CommonTime Education Scholarship Details
CommonTime Education will give away between two (2) and ten (10) no-fee and no-essay scholarship awards totaling up to $20,000. Applicants must meet the following criteria to receive an award and for their future higher education institution to receive funds from CommonTime Education.
Have an active and up-to-date free recruiting account on CommonTime Pathways
Have a posted video of their solo performance on their recruiting profile
Complete the “Musician’s Statement” part of the recruiting profile.
Demonstrate that their gross household income does not exceed $300,000 annually
Once awarded, funds will only be released directly to the student upon proof of enrollment in a higher education institution.
The scholarship is awarded both to students pursuing a degree in music (i.e. “music majors”) and to those not studying music but who wish to continue participating in music extracurriculars in college (i.e. “non-music majors”). To apply for the scholarship, simply create a profile on the CommonTime Pathways web application at https://app.ctpathways.com and fill out the scholarship form at https://app.ctpathways./com/dashboard/scholarship-application.
Income Attestation Requirements
We require all applicants for the CommonTime Education Scholarship to attest that their income is below a certain threshold. Our mission is to empower young musicians who may not otherwise have the means to pursue music in college to be able to do so. By completing the income attestation, you are confirming that:
The total household income for your parent(s)/guardian(s) and any other contributing members of my household is less than $300,000 (USD) for the most recently completed tax year.
You understand that household income refers to the combined gross income of all individuals who contribute financially to your household.
You confirm that the information provided in this attestation, and in your scholarship application, is true, accurate, and complete to the best of your knowledge.
You understand that providing false, misleading, or incomplete information may result in:
Disqualification from the CommonTime Education Scholarship
Revocation of any award granted
Requirement to return any funds already disbursed
You acknowledge that CommonTime Education may request additional documentation to verify household income, and you agree to supply such documentation if requested. You agree that failure to supply requested additional income documentation may, at CommonTime Education’ sole discretion, render you ineligible to receive the scholarship award you are applying for in this application.
You understand that this attestation will be used solely for the purpose of determining eligibility for the CommonTime Education Scholarship.
Marketing Consent
Applicants for the CommonTime Education Scholarship may choose to opt-in for some of their personal information provided on the platform to be used for marketing and fundraising for the CommonTime Education Scholarship fund. By choosing to opt-in for using marketing materials, you agree to provide CommonTime Education with permission to use share your information for use in marketing materials related to CommonTime Education only. This can include any or all of your first name and last initial, your profile photograph or other photograph you provide, your performance video uploads, the type of instrument you play, the state you are from or planning to study in, your musical goals, and other information you choose to provide.
Selecting “No” will not impact the CommonTime Education decision regarding scholarship awards. If you are announced as a finalist for a scholarship and you have not already consented to sharing your information, CommonTime Education will contact you to request your permission to share your information.
