FAQs

  • CommonTime Pathways is a recruiting platform that connects student musicians with college programs and scholarships. We are providing you with the same networking and recruiting opportunities that student athletes have enjoyed for years — finally bringing the power of athletic recruiting to the music world.

  • CommonTime Pathways is a social platform designed specifically for music recruitment. Students create profiles, upload performance videos, and share their academic goals and preferences. Colleges can discover these students, and students can also explore and connect with schools directly. This mutual connection helps both students and colleges find their perfect match.

  • Absolutely not! This is one of our biggest misconceptions to clear up. You don't need to major in music to contribute value to a college campus. Many of our opportunities are for non-majors who want to participate in marching bands, orchestras, choirs, and other musical ensembles while studying engineering, psychology, pre-med, or any other field.

  • Traditional music recruiting often relies on limited channels — competitions, expensive summer programs, or chance encounters with faculty. This has created barriers for many talented students. Our platform opens up year-round recruiting opportunities where colleges actively search for students, regardless of whether they’ve participated in traditional recruiting pathways.
